Name:
My name is Kuura. It means snow in the Finnish language, if you were wondering about the origin.
Gender:
My looks are a little confusing. I can assure you that I am female, carrying the double x chromosomes.
Age:
Sitting comfortably at the age of nineteen, I am very close to becoming an adult.
Rank:
I am a lone Citizen of the islands at the moment. One day, rescuing will be my life.
Extra Attacks:
Well, I have learnt how to use Shadow Ball (TM) and also know Ice Fang (egg move)
Types:
As you know, my species is a one-type breed; Dark type.
Species:
Sure, I look a little different to the norm, but I think you can see that I am a Mightyena.
Appearance:
Kuura (base used with permission) | Kuura Sprite
Kuura is only slightly taller than the average Mightyena, standing at 3'05" from paws to ears. She has the basic frame of a Mightyena also, with no difference to her bone structure in any way. However, there are two little details in her genes which affect her looks in a slightly undramatic way.
As she was born and raised in a mountainous area, her pack gained traits to help them survive. Their coat colours were dulled down dramatically, taking up shades close to the monutains, giving them the ability to blend in better with the snow. However, the downside to this is, she is easily spotted in dry, bright places. Kuura's base coat is a very pale steel blue colour, whist the longer, mane-like fur (and half of her legs, in a speckled fashion), is a dull teal colour.
The other trait she gained from her home, was the extra fur. She has a patch of it on the top of her head, flicking down to her forehead, and her mane curles down, around her chest. That collar of fur can only be described as a similar style to the fur you see on an Eevee, the light beige patch.
From first glances, you would instantly assume that Kuura was a push-over, someone who was naive and gentle to a fault. Though partially true in some situations, do not udnerestimate the mountain-born female. Easily able to hold her own in a fight, she is a tough cookie and not one to be messed with if she's in a bad mood.
Personality:
conflicted :: Kuura has always had a little trouble with her parents, and so has mixed emotions if they are bought up in topics, or if she is talking to them. See, her father used to keep her in the den, and wouldn't let her see the world outside. This annoyed Kuura greatly, so the pair tended to have small arguments from time to time. But, now she is older, she seems to regret those times. The same goes for her mother. She wants to hate her for giving her the blood disease she carries in her genes, but at the same time knows she must love her, because she is her mother.
fierce :: Kuura is in no way a push-over. She will defend herself 'til the end of time, be it verbally or physically. If someone says or does something she doesn't like, then Ku finds no problem in speaking her mind. Both of her parents have taken the brunt of her fierce attitude at times, her snapping and shouting, but she isn't really a bad girl. Just a little feisty at times.
loyal :: It seems contradictory of her nature to be loyal to another, but it is true. She is very loyal to her family, despite all of the hardships she has had in her life. Kuura would always put her family before herself if the situation called for such an action. If another managed to befriend her, then she would stay loyal to them aswell. She would stand by another, no matter what the accusations or situation they were in if she trusted them enough.
emotional :: Due to all the thoughts rushing through her head at one time, Kuura can become a little emotionally unstable. Most of the time she is a rather happy girl, even if she has an almost permenant look of sadness on her face. Every now and again, she will cry for no reason. Once as a pup, she bit herself until her leg bled, to remove all of the pain from her mind. Obviously, it didn't work and she has never done it again. She is quite easy to calm down, but her random shifts of mood can be quite destressing at times, especially when she starts shouting at herself or even cursing herself.
Strengths:
• Her loyalty towards those she had befriended.
• Her ability to read people, guess what they're feeling.
• Her moments of very deep compassion.
• Her adept abilities in cold and snow.
Faults:
• Her rather fierce attitude which crops up at times.
• Over sensitive and over critical of herself when in a down mood.
• Mild inability to cope in heat/hotter climates.
• The conflicted emotions towards her parents.
• Her rather solitary nature.
• Her odd love towards Dark-types, causing naivety on her part.
History:
In a high mountain range, somewhere in the Cold Islands region, there was a very small pack of Mightyena roaming near the peaks of the mountains. Consisting of mainly one family, along with those adopted few, they settled there nicely. Over generations, they adapted to their homes. One cold winter, the Beta couple gave brith to a female pup, who was later named Kuura. They took the name from a small cross-section of their own words (which can be compared to the Finnish language).
Raised in a close family was hard for her. Because she was the only pup at the time, she was confide to her den. Sadly, this lasted for many years, until she evolved somehow. This caused a great fued with Kuura's parents and her. One night, she snuck out of the den to explore her home. She managed to get back home, with enough time so no-one noticed her absence. This carried on until she was fifteen. It wasn't long before she was caught in her acts, and another row began. Where her blood disease genes were mentioned. Distraught and angered, Kuura fled from the mountains.
Her pack mounted a search, but she was never found. She had stumbled onto a town of Pokemon, and decided to take up residence there. At first, it was only a temporary thing. But, she grew to like the area and decided to stay for good. When tough times called for a Rescue Team, Kuura was unsure of whether to answer the call. More time passed, and as she got to nineteen, she decided to create her own Team.
Example Post:
To say it was hot was an understatement. To say it was boiling, that was another understatement. There weren’t that many words in her vocabulary to describe the soaring temperatures she was facing. The ground beneath her black paws was so hot; she could feel the hard skin on her pads being burnt away into the dust. It hurt, but she could take it. Unlike any other female, she was tough and hardened. Well, at least she thought she was anyway. She could handle anything the world threw at her. Okay, a little head-strong maybe. Almost anything was taken with ease. One of the things stopping her was her strange ability involving poison. She still couldn’t control it all that well, and she was even starting to form two varieties to her amazement. The purple and thick ooze was just normal poison, the same stuff you’d probably get from a Beedrill or something. Now, the green stuff; that was another story all together. Sure, the purple ooze could singe the ground, but the green poison. That was pure acid. It was the same colour as her marks and twice as deadly as her other poison. Perhaps it was something which came with age. The Mightyena wasn’t all too sure. She just knew it was hard to control one type of poison, let alone two varieties varying in strength. Then again, it did come in handy when bringing down larger prey.
Long black, green tipped tail swayed in the air, breaking up clods of smoke. A rather excited smile rested on her muzzle, emerald eyes hidden underneath a mass of black hair and fur. White ears twitched as the sound of Magmar came from the north, a loud laugh escaping her muzzle. The fiery beasts were something quite amusing to her. But, one thing she dared not go near. Well, not unless she was dared to do so. Lacrymosa hadn’t really met any other hounds since stumbling on the pack. They just seemed to accept her and then vanish. Which wasn’t much fun. Monochrome and green houndess was quite lonely, but kept her chest out as she walked on, hopping over charcoals and small craters in the ground. Vulcan Valley was a wonderful place to test her strength. Flicking her head to one side so she could see a little clearer, Lacrymosa laughed again as she walked onto the top of a large boulder, looking around to see she was still alone. “Jeeze, it’s boring around here.” Leaping down rather gracefully, she shook her body to remove the ash clinging to her fur. Parting her jaws, the female hound coughed up a small blob of purple goo, watching it burn through a charcoal rock. Pleased with her result, she closed her eyes as the hair covered them, concentrating hard. This time, she’d try to get some acid up. Hopefully. Growling a little deep in her throat, she could feel the burning sensation coming.
‘Who knew learning how to control poison would be so hard?!’
Feeling nothing coming, Lacrymosa closed her mouth and sighed hard. At least she was getting somewhere. Lowering her rear, she sat on a slightly cooler patch of rocky ground and looked up to the smoky grey sky. A sly yawn came through her lips, turning into a very high pitched whistle. Blinking, the Mightyena just chuckled away to herself.
