Name: Sarrehti (Sar-et-ti) Gender: Female Age: Teenager Rank: Rescue Team Leader Extra Attacks: Toxic, Swagger Types: Fire Species: Charmander x.X.x Appearance:
Quick Sketch: Sari is slightly larger than most Charmanders. She has dark, orange skin and blue-green eyes, and she also has very sharp claws and a long tail. The flame on her tail is always small, giving others the impression that she has bad health.
If you were to stumble upon Sari on one of her missions, you'd immediately think of her as the leader, or at least the strong and bossy understudy. Her size, which is slightly larger than the expected height and weight of her species, can be intimidating to the average Pokemon. Not to mention her fierce, blue-green eyes can pierce through you and bring you down to size with no trouble at all.
With that said, it's easy to imagine that she is the contradiction to the stereotype of all Charmanders being adorable and cuddly. Of course, if you got close to any of her kind you'd see that that isn't the case; point made when dealing with the claws and sharp teeth of the creatures. Sarrehti is no different - her claws, as if shaped from ivory, are long and dangerous, so think twice before getting in a slashing battle with her!
After saying that, we get to some of the most important parts of her phenotype. First, her skin is a dark orange - easy to see on a winter's day; hard to spot on a warm autumn evening. Second, and probably most strangely, the flame on her tail is always small. If you know anything about Charmanders, you'd know that if Sari were to have a small flame, she'd have bad health. And yes, that is the case. She isn't actually weak, but she normally has to be extremely wary of water and snow. So many a time her Charmander brethren would question her physical and mental state; Sari would never admit that she was ill, nor would she ever rest, for she really is practically the sickly Pokemon. Personality:
Helpful:
Sari would never leave an injured or scared Pokemon to fend for itself. Her morals are focused around being helpful, actually; it's what she wants to make of herself: the helpful Charmander. Tolerance, courage, and respect are the top factors that swing about her standards, and she hates to see anyone being an immature soul. To reject the plead of a Pokemon who needs assistance is the ultimate sin to her, although Sari is not the one to spend all of her time coming to creatures' aides. And you don't have to be dying in order for this Charmander to look at you twice either. She's glad to do services about town, but she won't participate in anything that she thinks isn't right.
Assertive:
To disrespect Sari's authority is like provoking a firestorm to engulf you. The Charmander demands proper respect from everyone - she won't tolerate anyone being made the fool of, not just herself. While she'll come to anyone's defense, she will stick to her place and not intrude unless if necessary. Branching on that, this Pokemon was a born leader. She's stern and thoughtful, and knows how to take initiative. Always with a firm plan in her mind, she's never rash and takes risks only if she has to. Her assertiveness can be her downfall though, for she loathes sharing authority and is quite ambitious.
Stubborn:
A determined soul, Sari is not the one to give up anything without a good fight. Most of the time, she's too stubborn to look at both sides of the argument, but she will compromise with fellow team members and others. Of course, when it comes to missions, she will not give up unless if someone just absolutely cannot go on anymore. Her criticizers see fault in how she "runs Pokemon into the ground," but her supporters see her as a brave creature that won't stop at anything to help those in need. Sarrehti isn't coarse or random in the least; her actions are mapped out - if not on paper but in her mind. She is firm; whether you consider that bad or good is your opinion, but do not tell her that she is harsh. What a horrid lie she would consider that, for she cares for the Pokemon around her more than most would care to notice.
Serious:
Being apart of a Rescue Team is serious business for Sari. She isn't in it for fame, and she may not be in it for the experience so much as the honor, but she does take the job more seriously than most. Austere on missions, that would be the worst time to fool around or question her unless if it's for the benefit of the team. Around friends though, and on her free time, you'll most likely catch her at ease. She will laugh, yes; she loves the good joke or a free shot at sarcasm now and then, but she isn't the most humorous you'll ever meet. It's not like she doesn't have an ear for comedy either; it just rubs wrong against her nature. Strengths:
Quick Sketch: Sarrehti knows diversified attacks that most would be subtly surprised for her to know. She also is the perfect leader, although of course she isn't exactly flawless in her authority; she can be too demanding at times, but it's for the best in circumstances.
From Metal Claw to her secret weapon that she's very well known for, Toxic, Sari has various moves that make her even more impending and dangerous. Too bad her fire ability suffers because of it, for although she is a fire type Pokemon, she only knows one fire move: Ember. So she may have the upper hand in diversity and range, her main ability is left in the dust. Sarrehti is building on her element; strength in that field will take time though, for Charmanders do not become strong and merciless over night.
Her leadership skills are often considered her greatest and strongest trait. Her ability to take control of a disorderly situation is amazing, and the teenage wonder is often questioned as to how she can be so bold and firm, despite the criticism she receives. But leading and helping is her passion, something that she cannot give up. Sari always knows what she's doing, and the idea of her being at a loss is almost too hard to imagine for some of her followers. Of course, she isn't superleader. She does get lost, and she does have doubts at the worst time to have them; she still perseveres and fights back fear with stubbornness.
Faults:
Quick Sketch: Sari is advanced in leadership and physical activity, but when it comes to things of the heart, she is dumbfounded. She knows how to have fun and love, but it's awkward for her all the same. Her health is also an issue, although it has never put her down before.
While Sarrehti knows how to run things and how to fight, she still lacks in many areas, socially and otherwise. Her heart needs to open up more to her surroundings, for she is not the social Butterfree in any respects. It's not hard for her to be around others, or else she couldn't manage a Rescue Team, but she can be awkward in endearing or personal moments/affairs.
Her health is always a problem, more with insisting second parties then with her own team. Since the flame on her tail is always so small, others of her kind are always concerned for her and suggesting that she stop being a Team Leader and start trying to recuperate. Rebuttal: then she'd have nothing to do with herself, and she hates just laying around with a good purpose. Sari would deem you as someone not to listen to if you brought up her tail all the time; she worries about it enough - she doesn't need someone else adding to the worries and caution. But because of the way she's so sickly and tries to hide it, she reluctantly has to refuse to be apart of missions that involve the water or snow. x.X.x History:
It was the night of a quarter moon, a waning gibbous, that Sari hatched. She was brought into the world as a wild Pokemon, something startles most of the others around her. Is it really that surprising? But nonetheless, through the mystery of Pokemon reproduction, she was brought into the world. Of course, her tail had a dim fire from the get go, and she was also large from the beginning. It was quite peculiar for her mother - a larger then average Charmander with a small flame. Although, as we know, she did not prove to be weak or bizarre. Because of the little social contact she had where she was, her personality did not flourish much from the sequestered tree. Over time Sarrehti left her mother as all aging Pokemon do; the woods called to her, although her fire limited what she could do.
A teenager, Sari became acquainted with the more civilized way of life; in town, a place where you didn't have to fight disgruntled Pokemon all the time. Her welcome wasn't all that warm, for you could imagine that the town inhabitants wouldn't be all that keen on a rough-looking Charmander moving into the neighborhood. Sari was an onlooker for a time, silently making a home near the ends of society so as not to be a nuisance. That changed once the "pivotal moment" happened.
Sarrehti was attached to the wilderness, even though she had almost given it up completely. Often she went out into the woods to spend the night despite her health, and she enjoyed it. It relaxed her nerves and let her think. Then, before she knew it, she had a visitor to the make-shift base she had assembled one night. It had been a lost Weedle; separated from its mother; the poor thing was upset beyond cheering up. The Weedle had been following a frail hope when it followed the glow of Sari's tail. The idea surprised Sarrehti - the thought of her dim, weak fire actually helping someone in a way, that was amazing to her. The Charmander took pity on the child and let it be her company for the night. To its joy, they spent the dark night together, and by some random chance, the creature's mother found them the next day. She was beyond grateful, and that made Sari feel like she had done something good for the first time.
After that incident, Sari's mind set had changed from just trying to make it on her own. Now she wanted to help others; not as an occupation but a lifestyle. She did services for others for a while, until the notions of Rescue Teams met her half-way.
The revelation: a Rescue Team had stopped by in town to rest after a mission. The young Charmander was keen on what they did, and learning from the citizens and from the Team themselves, she immediately wanted to lead her very own group. It was perfect! The task of recruiting, building a base, and getting hold of jobs seemed like nothing if it meant she could do what she truly wanted to do. Sari was determined; that's how her personality began to focus around bravery; and she began work on forming her own party. x.X.x Example Post:
Sarrehti .x
A form the color of flame shifted in its bed of fallen leaves, its tail hidden behind a fern bush. The creature had its eyes closed, shielded from the bright pastel colors of the morning. Cirrus clouds brushed across the sky, their tendons reaching out like a spiderweb. Sadly, the water vapor covered the rising sun, delaying the animal's "natural time clock." A bitter breeze rattled the branches up above, making the orange creature open its blue-green eyes. It lifted its head to the sky and yawned, flashing ivory-colored teeth in the process. Shivering, it pulled its tail out of the protective undergrowth to reveal a small flame at the tip of the appendage. The sight of the flame made the creature sigh and drop its head back onto the bed of moss it had made for itself.
A sharp crack sounded up above it, making it start and hold its tail close. A striped creature fell from the canopies of gold and red; landing on the animal with the flaming tail. "Be more careful while you're up there, would you?" it snapped, pulling itself out from under what it recognized as a Zigzagoon. The Zigzagoon leaped away from it, eyes wide and tail bushed out more than usual for the species. "Ah! A Charmander!" it yelped. "Yeah," the Charmander growled, "A Charmander." She waved her tail for emphasis; the flame glowing brightly in the half-light. The other creature gulped and then quickly made a retreat into the dark wood.
The Charmander sighed, suddenly feeling lonely. "What are you going to do, Sari?" she said aloud to herself; looking up at the sky as it brightened even further. Several of the dry, shriveled leaves around her caught fire due to her swinging her tail, and she quickly got to work on stomping it out. A fire could catch quick in the autumn forest if something like her tail were to set something alight. Holding her tail now with her paws, she walked upright several paces before stopping. "What are you going to do?" she repeated quietly.
